Brief

Mac Voice is Macmillan’s quarterly magazine that goes out to Macmillan Professionals. Following the brand refresh, there was an opportunity to relook at the magazine to make it more engaging to professionals.

Solution

To make it more engaging, the grid system was changed to allow for flexibility in the design. To ensure this, one column is left blank to allow for the copy to look less cluttered. This mention that when there were multiple single page articles, so they didn’t look the same as each other.

The new secondary colours were also used so that each section was assigned a colour, this colour would be used for all the type hierarchy and calls to action. This helped the reader to know which section of the magazine they are in.
