Hello, my name is Chris and I am a talented, enthusiastic and passionate Designer from Stoke-on-Trent who is now based in London.

Since graduating from Staffordshire University in 2009 with a 1:1 in Graphic Design. I’ve been able to freelance for a variety of agencies such as Reform Creative, Dinosaur and Jackson Hammond. While there I was able to work on a selection of projects from branding to packaging.

Currently, I work as the Creative Manager at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Previously, I worked as the Senior Designer at Crisis. Here I assisted on Crisis’s brand refresh when I first started, which included including in the design and creation of the icons, infographics and illustration style. Worked on integrating the new brand refresh into all of Crisis’s brand materials. And lead on the creative for integrating the new brand identity into Crisis’s retail enterprises (shops and cafés).

Before Crisis, I was the Designer as part of the in-house creative team for Macmillan Cancer Support. Where I’ve been involved in designing materials such as the information booklets, which allowed Macmillan to communicate better with people living with cancer, an engaging and friendly booklet that contained a very sensitive subject matter, end of life and the Volunteers handbook. I’ve also been involved in developing various elements of the Macmillan brand. Including the development of our icon style.

Testimonials

“Anyone fortunate enough to have Chris in their team should consider themselves very lucky indeed. He’s an exceptionally talented designer with a great eye for detail and an abundance of creative ideas. But above all else, he has the kind of commitment and dedication to the causes and organisations that he works in which means he goes above and beyond in everything he does. He’s an absolute joy to work with, I’d recommend him every time.”

Hannah Redmond, Lead Creative at Westco Communications

“Chris is a fantastic designer – the kind of designer that sees the little details to make a project perfect. He’s extremely talented and super speedy. He ensures the brief is met and always generates lots of ideas that all fit the brief. I highly recommend Chris and he is an extreme pleasure to work with.”

Kath Simpson, Design and Innovation specialist

“Chris is an amazingly talented designer, he’s chock full of wonderfully creative ideas and a demon with a mac. At Macmillan, he frequently ran with ideas and pushed them as far as he could. He’s fantastic at meeting with clients while taking them measuredly through any kind of explanation of his designs he always gets to know what their issues and concerns are, which for a designer is key but so few are actually really, truly adept at. I would wholeheartedly recommend Chris.”

Corin Martin, Creative Director at Narrative Design

“Chris came to with Jackson Hammond on our work experience programme and in that time he created some really great work on live briefs for some of our biggest clients. He has the ability to think ‘outside’ the brief and create really thought-provoking graphic solutions. As well as his creative skills – Chris is very approachable, a good listener and eager to learn.”
